A fan has asked me to address a situation in LA.

Fan experience: We arrived at the hotel with very low expectations but a little hope from Liam’s tweet the night before. After waiting there for a couple hours and seeing Liam arrive at the hotel, Paul came out and told us to sit down on the grass and calm down so if the boys come out we won’t run across the street and endanger anyone. He described the situation implying the boys would at least try to come out and had us just sit tight and wait and armed with Liam’s tweet and Paul’s directions,  all the fans outside stayed for hours with the expectation that we might see them, or that they might at least try to come out and see us. Everyone stayed seated, behaved calm and didn’t jump up or scream even when it appeared some of the other boys were arriving. About 4-4.5 hours after Paul came out to talk to us (at which time it was nearly dark), two SUVs were seen leaving with Paul and Liam. Liam rolled down the window and waved as the cars left. The fans all presumed they must be leaving to the airport since that was what was being reported and they took multiple cars with members of security and everything. I understand that there were a lot of fans there and it may have been risky but everyone was trying to stay calm and patient and if they had us assemble like they did, they should have at least tried to bring out the boys. Worst-case scenario, they could have whisked the boys back inside. If they weren’t planning on coming out, Paul should have told us just to leave, or a member of security or they could have even tweeted it. Paul coming out and telling us to sit down calmly just made more people stay longer than they would have otherwise. The part that was frustrating was being left uniformed after being led to believe that they were coming out. They could have let us know so the fans wouldn’t have stayed so long in the cold under the false impression that they were coming.

Unfortunately this stuff happens, I have no idea why they’d get your hopes up like that when clearly they most likely weren’t going to bring the boys out to actually meet anyone anyway. Especially, after Liam’s tweets got your hopes up. I’m sorry this happened to you LA fans.

My friend waited from 11pm to 4am in Phoenix to see if the boys would come out for fans. There were only like 4 of them...
